A Midsummer Night’s Dream eBook

The first in the series of Shakespeare eBooks produced by The New Book Press is now for sale in the iTunes eBookstore.
I play Titania/Hippolyta in this filmed version of the play, which has the full text right next to the video and is interactive. It is a pretty great learning tool for anyone wanting a simple and fun intro to Shakespeare or for those who know and love it and want to hear the play again.

Helen Hayes Award Winner

Francesca is the recipient of the 2013 Helen Hayes award for Outstanding Lead Actress, Resident Play for her portrayal of Nina Leeds in Eugene O’Neill’s Strange Interlude at the Shakespeare Theatre in DC, directed by Michael Kahn.

- This production was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Michael put together the most marvelous team of actors and designers and the Shakespeare Theatre is a hugely supportive place to work. A fabulous, fabulous ride we all had with this extraordinary, gnarly, heart-breaking, long (and consequently rarely done) work of art. What a work out for soul, mind and body.

One of costume designer Martin Pakledinaz’s final great creations for Maria Aitken’s production of Man and Boy at the Roundabout.
Rest in peace dear Marty.

Sylvia Plachy’s beautiful shots

I love Sylvia Plachy’s beautiful shots from our production of Orlando at Classic Stage Company in 2010. A great way to remember a magical time.
